In 2000 the Church of Scotland launched the "Church Without Walls" initiative to challenge congregations to engage more with local and wider community. The Acorn Centre was the response of Inverurie West Parish Church. By making better use of the building space, the ground floor was opened up to accomodate the hospitality area, UBUNTU fairtrade shop, gallery space and meeting rooms. The Sanctuary was also upgraded with lift access, multimedia and induction loop system, making it suitable for larger meetings and events.
Our goal is to provide true hospitality, good food that is either from Fairtrade, organic or local suppliers, and provide meeting spaces for local groups and conference clients.
